Steps For Ordering Your Pet Portrait

PHOTOS
​
-High QUALITY photo of your pet.
​
-NATURAL LIGHT is best as this shows better detail to paint from and allows for correct colourings. Pictures taken outside or by a light window area. With even lighting to minimise shadows.
​
-Ensuring that the KEY FEATURES, eyes, nose and any unique features are shown well.
​
- ANGLE is best from eye level of the pet. The best way to achieve this is to get the camera down to their level and have a toy or treat to keep the attention and be able to have the eye gaze where you want it.
​
- POSE is important as I will be using the pose in your picture for the painting, please do make sure it's how you want your finished product to look. Sitting is best for pose rather than standing or laying.
​
-QUANTITY & QUALITY both is great for us to find the best photo to paint from. I can pick up on small details and colourings in having multiple pictures and angles. Also helps me gain an understanding for character of the pet.
(Happy for you to give some notes on character and any unique traits your pet has)

I know not all of these can be possible if the beloved pet has passed or you want a younger picture painted. so please don't feel that your pictures aren't good enough! I've painted from 20 year old disposable camera photos before. Do send any pictures you have and we can create a memorable special piece for you to treasure or gift to a loved one.

STYLE & SIZE
Once you've decided which style & size you would like from above, contact me and we can get started on your bespoke painting. There is no requirement for deposit. Payment is needed after you've seen the preview photos of the finished painting.

PREVIEW
Once I have finished the painting, I will send you some preview pictures like the ones exampled above. I'll ask if anything needs adding or changing to ensure its perfect for you.
PAYMENT
An invoice will be sent to you via email, then once payment is received I will gift wrap and send your painting out via special tracked delivery in a safe cardboard backed packaging.
* I can also have it Mounted and Framed for you by my Local Framers, At additional cost. please get in contact if you require this.*
collection is preferred for this service to ensure the glass is less likely to be broken in transit.
